I collect High-end and what I consider Interesting Guitars. I’m always looking for something to add to my collection.
Recently, I ran across a guitar brand that I hadn’t come across before…Zaar. After doing some research, including listening to video sound clips, I decided to try one.
I was interested in the ZC690SE, a solid KOA wood guitar. This model was not available. I contacted Zaar and worked with Craig to find out what solid wood models they had in stock. I decided on the ZC375SE, which has a Sitka Spruce top and solid Walnut back and sides.
After letting it climatize after delivery, I opened it and was immediately impressed with the appearance and high quality. Upon playing it, the playability and sound were equally impressive!
This guitar punches well above its weight class. I can verify that as I have a Martin Custom Shop Special Order 000-14 with a Sitka Spruce Top and solid Walnut back and sides which cost almost twice as the similar Zaar.
They sound virtually identical and both produce the crystal clear highs for which Walnut guitars are known. The Martin and Zara’s playability, construction, and overall quality aren’talso pretty much the same.
Bottom Line: The ZC375SE is a high quality guitar and an exceptional value!
I’m so impressed with the ZC375SE model, that I intend to purchase a ZC690SE when they are back in stock.
